Beach Engagement

February 25, 2012 Lucas and I took a trip to the North Carolina Aquarium at Kure Beach and the walked along Carolina Beach and enjoyed the board walk there.  Even though it was February and most of the shops were closed it was a lovely day and not too cold. Here's me walking towards the water.

After walking along the water and generally enjoying the ocean, Lucas got down on one knee and said, "This may be the last time I get to ask you this, will you marry me?"Of course I said yes! 

Because I work in a lab with various chemicals and I'm a little rough on my things in general, I wanted a ring that I wouldn't constantly be worried about.  The ring is a sterling silver lovers' knot and it's perfect for wearing around the lab.

So, I know some of you are under the impression that my siblings and I...ok, Bailey and I, are very serious people.  Well I have news for you...we are, but no all the time.  And Cynthia helps us out A LOT. But, point is, we like to have fun too.  And to prove this point (maybe not really well), I have family photos for you! This pose came about a few years ago in a family picture session where Bailey just decided to hug us. He really does love us!

He also likes to just kind of lay on top of us and of course Cynthia is always cheesing it up.

I have no idea what was going on in this one...there is a series of pictures of Bailey laughing culminating in this one with us all at least kind of laughing. 

I just kind of love this one. I have no idea why.  

We had a bonding moment here...just swaying and laughing.

Thanksgiving!

I'm back from my Thanksgiving-finals-Christmas break so I'll start with updates from Thanksgiving.  I had class Monday and Tuesday and after some consideration, Lucas and I decided to go home for the 5 days I had off.  It was a crazy 5 days but we did have a lot of fun at home.  We spent some time at Lucas' parents house and then spent Thanksgiving at my extended family's Thanksgiving celebration.  I don't have any pictures of the awesome food we had but we did get to ride my aunt's horses.  Here's a picture of Lucas and I!

We also took some family pictures.  This pictures with my cousins may be my favorite.

We also took an entire family photo which I love, love, love.  It may be a while before this happens again...
